icareindia is doing an outstanding job of bringing together students, youth and local communities on the same platform without any financial assistance from the government.
Bhagidari is the other important pillar, and an extension of Ankuram. The overarching purpose of Bhagidari is to engender social progress through value based quality education by making the local community active partners in the process. More specifically, it aims to ensure regularity, increased enrolment, behaviour change and sustainable development by developing community groups through nukkad-nataks and chaupals, exposure tours and inner-development camps.
We observed that parents are not very vocal about the issues concerning their children's education. So, to institutionalise forums of communication between community members, guardians and teachers, regular parent-teachers meetings and community assemblies are being organised.
The success of this programme is the result of a positive and creative attitude, strategic planning and effective implementation at the grass-root level, in which every stakeholder is keeping her end of the deal. In our humble opinion, it would be a mistake to look at it as icareindia's solo mission. Rather, it is a collaborative effort and we believe, we are just playing our parts. Local educational institutions, District Administration, Universities, Colleges, and the Panchayati Raj Institutions, and other institutions engaged in social work are as much a part of this campaign as icareindia and have an equal stake in its success.
Our field team comprises of rural youth, with a significant participation of girls who are being trained to work on various village development issues. Their presence as local community resource persons (CRPs) and as coordinators give us an edge to achieve remarkable success on our focused areas.

icareindia has been instrumental in getting my students interested in getting educated. They are coming to school regularly, in bigger numbers than before. icareindia is a responsible organisation.

Today, I can safely say that people’s perception of government is undergoing a change. Those who were averse to the idea of sending their children to government schools, are not only doing so but telling others about it as well
