NIRAMAY is a special program of I CARE India focused on Health & Hygiene, under which the habits of cleanliness inculcated in the community, so that the sense of hygiene within the children can be endured and both the children and their parents become healthy and sensitive towards cleanliness.
Working in this direction, under the Niramay program, children have developed habits towards cleanliness through various activities and their parents are also being made aware of hygiene.
Apart from this, information about cleanliness and the benefits arising out of it, is given through activities like street plays, cleanliness rally, cleanliness tests, cleanliness day celebration etc.
A healthy brain resides in a healthy body. That is why, along with being educated, it is very important for children to stay healthy, so to keep the health of children right, different kinds of activities are done in schools such as Yoga, sports, Pranayam, PT and so on.
Children’s nails are regularly checked by the interns during daily prayers. Children are encouraged to come to school every day bathed, wearing clean uniform, eating with their washed hands properly. All these efforts have brought awareness of hygiene among children Continuous efforts have led to the development of good habits in these children like washing hands before and after taking meals, eating food by sitting in a row, and not throwing their food on the ground.
Physical exercise and sports are done regularly by the children with the help of our interns. Along with physical development of children, mental development takes place through sports, as well as the development of spirit and sociality of working in groups within children. In addition, children are made to play indoor games such as carom, chess, ludo etc. At the time of prayer, children are regularly made to do PT, yoga and pranayam, so that children remain interested whole day in learning and education. These efforts have increased the interest of children in the school and their physical-mental development has also increased rapidly.
